(poem collab) Offspring of Rain [No. 1]

No. 1
Offspring of Rain
raindrops are doomed to fall,
on hot-spots where I will call,
a new generation; on the prowl,
to hold and stop still, just stall.
they need not know where they fall,
just that they’ll land amongst them all,
the ground is aesthetically crimson,
with an earthy desire to be seen.
shame that they fall so fast,
towards the days last breathe we lay to dream,
in hopes that the next may persist,
for all the losses we gain our depth.
each one doomed to share,
the same fate; they breathe the cold air,
none stop to listen to echoes,
they all walk on by, unaware.
raindrops are doomed to fall,
the signals are missed, surpassed by all,
and none will listen to the warning,
to hold and stop still, just stall.
holding onto the blistering past,
folding into helplessness at last,
cold sinking into the bloody mast,
molding us all into drones; too fast.
The next person will pick up from there with their four lines. Note your four lines, line breaks as // double-slashes. Make sure you put in "for poem collab no. 1" which you can copy and paste right from here.
