2004
Write out (as a conversation) a political debate.
Write a poem about how the world views you.
Write from the point of view of a child under the age of twelve.
2005
Write a concise poem about an unusual or complicated relationship.
Write a poetic short story about falling in love with someone you can’t be with.
Write about something distinctly morbid, graphic and/or gothic.
Write about a childhood memory that struck you and still has impact on you today.
Write from the point of view of someone clearly very insane.
2006
Write a short story or poem about a person whose in love with someone who is not of the same orientation, and the problems it has caused. (Example: Lesbian female in love with a straight female.)
Write a stream-of-consciousness piece on how you feel about something very disturbing to you.
Write out how you feel about suicide.
Write about having your hopes lifted after they’ve been crushed.
2007
Pretend that you are one of the elements: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth or Light. Write about your journey, and/or feelings as this element and/or how you effect everything around you.
Write from the point of view of a ghost.
Write a short story or poem where the main character is made to feel terribly violated.
Write out your worst nightmare, one that made you wake up screaming, crying or just plain scared shitless.
Write a poem about a violent breakup.
Group Activities
Find a partner.
You: Name a topic.
Them: Note partner with two lines that pertain to the topic.
You: Note partner with the two lines they sent you, and add two of your own.
Them: Note partner with your two lines, their two lines, add two more, and repeat as many times as you and your partner desire.
When you’re finished, add as an entry. You may want to do some editing.
