(poem) Untitled [mae9191]
2007-06-26 -- 5:38 p.m.
Thoughts running through my head,
Many, most, are left unsaid;
To speak is to reveal yourself
and open up, let them in.
The wall keeps building,
I can't pull it down.
Someone grab my hand,
someone flip my frown.
I need this comfort
in my soul,
of safety and security,
that i'm not a fool.
It's so lonely inside
all these walls.
I yell so loud
but I can't be heard.
Get a rope,
tie me up,
beat me down,
let me out.
My feet are dragging,
my arms are weak,
the good will inside me
is failing to keep.
I can't live in this darkness.
I won't watch these walls fall
and crash
into a smoldering pile of ash.
Everything's different,
everything's pure.
I see a light in the distance,
it's coming toward.
Is there a Lord
come to save me?
Or am I tricked
once more?
Get down on my knees
and beg for mercy,
or stand tall
and whisper to a God.
Note:
Written at three in the morning. Yeah, I was freaking out.
